I had an interesting experience tonight, and wanted to ask a question.

Around 12:15 tonight, I dropped my girlfriend off in front of tj. I got out of my car to help her carry her stuff from my car to her room. I was in TJ long enough to go to 4 south, drop her stuff off, say goodbye and leave, no more than 5 minutes. When I come back out, there's a campus police officer writting me a ticket for illegal parking! He then said I was lucky because I came out and he tore up the ticket. When I tried to explain that I was just unloading my car to help with my girlfriend's stuff, he told me I couldn't use that, I would have to park across the street. Now, when I used to live in the dorms, that turn around section in front of tj was called a loading/unloading zone and you could use it for a few minutes to unload your car without having to walk a mile back and forth. Has this changed now so you can't stop there at all or what?

As far as I know, that little circle in fromt of TJ is still a loading zone with a 30 minute time limit. If that has been changed, then they certainly did not make anyone aware of it. I would email either Dana (the TJ Director), or Jennie Nixon (works in Res Life office). Either of them should be able to give you the answers you seek. :)

Unfortunately, now the UMR PD control that lot, so they can make whatever rules they want to enforce on it.

The parking ticket people are a bunch of reactionaries.

On Thursday i walked out to my legally parked car to find a ticket under the wiper. $20 for "invalid parking permit". My permit was on the passenger side of my car, i guess it was supposed to be on the driver's side

Luckily i was able to go up to the parking office and get it reduced to a warning, and they made me peel off the old sticker and put a new one on the driver's side.
