I am looking for a music editing and/or mixing and/or creation program. Does anyone happen to have a good one or know of a good one?

A buddy of mine had a prior experience with cakewalk and it totally messed up his computer. Could be the only instance, but just a warning. What kind of music creation are you looking for? Would FruityLoops work for you? Don't know if that's what you're looking for...but it's pretty neat regardless.

i've used the cool edit series ever since 96. it's always worked excellently for me. i don't know what you'd use for the "creation" part.

for music, FruityLoops is pwn, but for mixing and mastering you might want to try other software like magix samplitude

If your looking for something free, Audacity is pretty good. It offers multitrack support and has some pretty cool editing features too. Kristal is also another really go multitracker with vst support.
These are really basic and simple to use and get the job done. Calkwalk, sonar, pro-tools, etc. can be too over welming for me. If you have money to spend, Sound Forge is amazing for editing, but no mulitrack support. what exactly do you need the software for? --mr.hairy
