That everyone spies on everyone else isn't really news. What is more interesting is the irreparable damage done by Chirac. In the interest of global relations, the French ought to someone who is able to bring more nations to the table for the goals of a better world.

You shouldn't dislike the french people for what happened in the UN, especially people that complain about bush screwing up by going there (not anyone in particular).

You might dislike the french government, but dont dislike the french. most of them are indiferent to the American war plan, or as vehemently against their government as some Americans are of ours.

Anyone who dislikes the French because of what happened in the UN are nothing but sheep of american popular beleifs.

I think most people hate the French for things they have done in the past. Or just because they hate the damn frenchies. Or perhaps because they are dissapointed that french fries didn't come from france.

I was making reference to their need for american assistance in the two world wars. For some reason after awhile, americans tend to think pooply on people we have to help over and over agian. Plus if you didn't know, France asked for our assistance right before Iraq to help quell the rebels along the ivory coast, if I remember correctly, which we provided. However, I do have to admitt (taken from watching the history channel) that the french women did sleep with a lot of the GIs that came through.

Unlikely. There's a better chance that the american colonies would have been really poor, unable to make weapons, and pulled into WW2 much earlier than we went in. If it werent for the French, Hitler would have won WW2 and we would all be Nazi shitheads

Have you ever taken a history course that covered WW2? Just curious, seeing as the French lasted 15 minutes before surrendering, mainly because their mounted guns were mounted in place to prevent Germany from using them against them. Their only problem was that they were mounted in the wrong direction. Oops.

Pearl Harbor is the reason that Hitler didn't win WWII. He was going to wait and attack the US once he had conquered Europe and re-grouped his forces. The Japanese leader did not wait as he was supposed to, thus bringing America into the war sooner, while we still had some sort of resistance in Europe with which to re-enforce. If we had not be drawn into WWII so early, Hitler would have been undefeatable once the consildation (sp?) of Europe was complete.

Rather than Pearl Harbor, I'd say betraying his non-aggression pact with Russia was the reason Hitler lost WWII. He didn't have the means to defend two fronts against two significant enemies.

What I was saying is that America wouldnt have been nearly as powerful as it was. If it werent for the french helping the colonies win the revolutionary war, britain would still have been abusing the american colonies just like it abused all of its other colonies. America wouldnt have had the resources to make weapons as a neutral nation because britain would have dragged the colonies to war years earlier and taken any war resources we may have had. The united power of russia, britain and america is what won the war. if america wasnt the power it should be, there is no way britain would have been able to defeat hitler's western front. the french sucked in WW2, but if it wasnt for their help in the 1770's, we would never had been able to save their asses in the 1940's.

Britian did attack the US after we gained independence, ever hear of the War of 1812. And after we gained independence, england did nothing but capture every last one of our merchant ships. Then we build the constitution, one of the greatest warship of that time. And we helped the french in WWI in 1914, Vietnam in late 1940's, and every other french colony.
