yeah...so i'm a dj in training at KMNR and i was just wondering what kind of listener base the radio station has on campus. just post any comments on the station (good or bad). include your favorite/least favorite show or thing or whatever opinion you have about anything to do with KMNR. i personally really like working there. it is a really relaxed environment and their music library is huge. also, i can play anything i want anytime. that's the best part.

Well, almost. Don't forget those seven words.

I met a trainee from KMNR not too long ago. He was cool.

I would love to work there, but I'm no good with improv.

I think I might be the Tim you are referring to. Don't know any TIM's off the top of my head  But I play Tuesdays 8:00-11:00 in the morning if that's me, then hi!!

Man Tim that showtime sucks almost as much as mine. 3-6am is not fun, but at least it's safe harbor.

For the record you don't need to know how to improv to work at the station. Hell, you pretty don't need to know anything...we teach you anything that you'll need to know. You just have to have some musical knowledge.

I just get nervous when I know a lot of people are listening to me. I'd probably stutter through the entire time. I'd love to do it though.

You don't have to worry about everybody listening to you. You probably won't get a time slot where alot of people listen until your 3rd or 4th show. And by that time, you've built up enough confidence.

Or you could just not talk on air.

Shannon, why the avatar change? That last one was hilarious!

Whereas the last one only talked about sucking, this one actually does.

Bah, you suck!

I'll put up a different one that the same person made for me. How about that?

Hmm.

No, the first one was better. Stick with it. Fuck all the dipshits that can't take the joke.

As for your AIM icon... Go back to the original one you had when we first started talking. The "I Heart Chi Omega" one... Much better than the one you have now.

I listen during my friend's show - Oversynthasized - on Fridays 3:00 - 6:00, but other than that I haven't gotten around to listening a whole lot. There are some shows I'm interested in, though.

Actually, that would be the main reason I'd be afraid to apply. I don't think I'd have any problem talking on air or doing any of the technical stuff, but I'm not sure that my musical knowledge is quite up to snuff. I know my favorite music, but I don't know a huge amount outside of that. When I plan it out, I can pretty easily think of a few hours worth of completely unique (no repeated artists or songs) content, but if someone requested something, a lot of times I wouldn't know one way or the other what kind of music it was.

i was a dj when i was still in rolla. it kicked ass. I didn't know much music at the time, and my mic presence was lacking, but it was still fun, and pretty easy.

besides, it's a good way to meet people, and find some new music that you like. When you're a dj, you have the whole kmnr library at your disposal when you're in the station.
