The last 5 or so audio CD's i've burnt have turned out like crap. I have a ~3 year old 24x write speed CD-R drive. I'm pretty sure it isn't bad disks, because the CD's came from two different spools of Memorex's, one of which had been giving me great CD's. I'm using Burn4Free.

So....i've been looking for an excuse to get a new drive that will read and burn both CD's and DVD's. Does anyone have some suggestions for a decent quality drive that will give me good burns and not cost a whole lot? I mean like <$75 or so.

I'm thinking of maybe this one.

Thanks for any help.

review of 16x, DL drives, the NEC 3500A is the best, I have the Samsung 522B, which is a bit noisier but works well, Liteons are bad dvd burners, the one I have is very picky about media. on newegg all the drives are between $60 and $80, not much of a price difference.

What speed do you burn at? Try the lowest if you don't already, it might help.

Yeah, I own a Pioneer DVR-108, and it's worked like a charm. I think NewEgg was selling them for $68 or something last week.
