The day after Thanksgiving, but that has passed so buy the components and build you own according to what you want it to do. It will be cheaper and better in the long run, unless you just LOVE Dell's (or competitor's) tech support and farce warrenties.

I guess Alienware has grown into a large enough company where they can sell affordable computers. They have computers starting at $700 and if you check their website every now and then, they'll have some kind of special deal going on. Sometimes it's free shipping and other times it's like $200 off desktops, etc. With Christmas coming up, I'm sure they'll have something.

the better sales are before xmas. the next market-wide drop won't be until march/april.

i build a lot of computers for people, and i have noticed that various parts have gone up in price by about 10-15% since summer. Especially on newegg. this makes sense, cause they are in much higher demand right now. I think it will start to go back down in spring.

I don't know what parts you're talking about but I havn't seen any actually go up, unless maybe it's on the high price gear to start with. But all the mid range stuff always goes down little by little.
