I know it's kind of late, but I just wanted to say that everyone who said Kill Bill 2 was good is an idiot. When the movie came out there were alot of people on here who said that, even though I didn't like the first one, the second one was different and was much better than the first. What the hell is wrong with you people? I go to blockbuster last night and they were out of Hero, Dodgeball, and Bourne Supremecy, so I had to settle for Kill Bill 2. One of the worst movies I've EVER seen. Dare I say worse then the first one? Yes, yes I do dare to say that. I don't know why I actuall listened to some of the people at Rolla when it came to their movie opinions, but I doubt I will do it again any time soon. So in closing, anybody who said that I should watch Kill Bill 2, I give you a big "Fuck you, asshole".

wether you like kill bill 2 or not, i'm going to say you dodged a bullet by them being out of hero. that movie was totally gay and lame. worst massive army attacking a city scene in movie history. and DODGEBALL? i haven't even seen the movie, but i think i would rather have ben stiller repeat "JOANIE LOVES CHACHI" over and over and over again while someone repedeatly plunks me in the nuts with a 10" red rubber ball

anyway, i enjoyed kill bill 2. i liked the closure, i liked how it took a different direction than the first movie. in the first movie, "bill" was this faceless evil dude and we all want him to die, even though we aren't 100% sure why. but in kill bill 2 you realize that he just kinda got a little upset (what does he say? "i lost my cool" or something?). after their conversation you don't necesarily want him to die, but he's gotta die. and the superman speech? come on man that was pretty good

what did you think about kill bill 1, though

I thought Kill Bill 1 sucked fairly bad, but not as bad as 2. The only reason why I watched the movie was because people said vol 2 took a different direction and the basic story behind vol 1 was probably the only thing that was decent. Some of the fighting in the first one was cool, but most of it was damn crappy and too unrealistic, but at least it was fighting. Vol 2 did not have as much fighting it seemed like, and then the story and filmography (or whatever you call it) in vol 2 completely sucked. The way the actors talked was incredably retarded and sounded like they just were trying to impress the audience by sounding cool. That was the exact same thing that ruined The Matrix 2 and 3. Albiet, there were some interesting parts in 2, and yes, the superman speech was pretty good, but the vast majority of both movies were just full of crap that was badly filmed.

If anyone thought this was a good martial arts movie, and I mean taken from the martial arts standpoint, then I feel sorry for you. I suggest that anyone who wants to see an actual good martial arts movie, with some damn good fighting as well as a good storyline, then watch Fist of Legendd starring Let Li. Probably the best martial arts fight scenes ever.

I have to disagree regarding Fist of Legend as the best martial arts fight scenes EVER. It was DAMN GOOD, but not the best. I'd have to say the scenes in Kung Pow marginally edge out Fist of Legend.

Don't forget the sandwich analogy. That was awesome as well. And Uma squishing Darryl Hannah's only eye in her dirty-ass foot? Brilliant!

I loved both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. Which is why I own them on DVD.

Eh, didn't think the sandwich analogy was that great and I also didn't think the eye squishing was very good either. That was just Tarintino (sp?) to try and entertain the viewer by being gorey.

And Kung Pow was damn good, but just a little bit worse than Fist of Legend.

lol, but seriously, Fist of Legend I think is edged out by a few other Jet Li movies and (I know I'm going to be laughed at because of this) movies like Crouching Tiger and Iron Monkey. I don't know, but for some reason I'm a sucker for that acrobatic wire fight stuff.

yeah, i'm laughing at you. I don't really consider wire fighting movies like croutching tiger as true martial art movies. I would consider them more of a fantasy genre, because really that's what they are. Martial arts movies are so good because it shows you how impressive some of the fighters can really be, even though it is coreographed (sp?). Bruce Lee is probably the best example of why martial arts films rock, and why he brought them into what they are today. The majority of Bruce Lee's movies had a pretty crappy storyline, but they were still cool movies. First off, Bruce Lee was ripped, and although it sounds pretty gay, I am always impressed with his body. Just look at his friggin lats, or what I like to call his wings, that are in my avatar. I want a pair. Secondly, and most importantly, it was what Lee was able to perform. The jumps, kicks, etc. that he could do with so much speed, style, and grace. It's just amazing to watch, no matter what the storyline of the movie is. Then there is always the fact that it is real, and thus possible for anyone to accomplish.

Jackie Chan is amazing! His movies rock! Mostly the older ones because they had less story in them and more martial arts.

When I go watch a kung fu movie, I don't want to bother with a pussy storyline. I wanna see awesome martial artists kicking ass!

Yeah, I love Jackie Chan movies, that guy has true skill.
I watched a Bruce Lee movie last night and to be perfectly honest was bored out of my mind.
And I hate to say it, but Fist of Legend still used wires, just not to the extent of CTHD.

I know fist of legend did some unrealistic things and used wires, but it wasn't too far fetched. It was quasi-realistic enough to still be somewhat believable.

Hell Yeah!

But, be warned, if you're not a big fan of wire-enhanced fight scenes, you'll probably not like Hero. But, that's because, more than an action movie, it's the makers trying to create an epic legend (and, doing so successfully, in my opinion). But, for actual, usable technique, the martial arts in the movie sucks. It's more like that found in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

But, when you realize that the people in Hero are fighting that way not because the director wanted to show that he can use wires too, but because that's the way ancient martial arts legends are supposed to fight, then it's a little bit easier to accept (again, much like CTHD).

As for Bruce Lee movies, yeah, the storylines sucked. And, quite honestly, the action in them sucked. Lee was an amazing martial artist, but compared to people like Jet Li and Jackie Chan, he came across on screen like crap (except, perhaps, when you take into account that he could actually do about 95% of what he does on screen). The reason I think Bruce Lee movies rocked is that he did what essentially no action movie did before him, or do very much after him--he used them as a medium to get across the philosophy behind his martial arts.

I don't think I will mind Hero as much because it is supposed to be a far-fetched kind of idea, like you say. Movies where you go in expecting something unrealistic and mythical is all right, but for Kill Bill it seems like they were just doing it kinda realistic, but basically whatever the hell they wanted.

And Lee's movies were good. Yes Chan's and Li's movies are much better with a much faster pace, but you have to realize that martial arts movies became popular through Bruce Lee, and so he was did not have much to work with since he started it all. Overall though, Bruce Lee was an amazing fighter and he could do some amazing things. If he was around today with the special effects and choreography that are in movies, he would be unbelievably awesome.
