i'm trying to upload some shit for my UMR webspace from home. the usual app i use, WS_FTP won't connect to "gpunix.umr.edu" or "gpunix.cc.umr.edu" (i forgot which one was correct) so then i tried all the others ("rocket.cc.umr.edu, saucer.cc.umr.edu....) and none would connect. i then tried to telnet to them using window's telnet and none would connect.
do i need to be on UMR's network in order to gain access to these services? does anyone know?

you must use a secure ftp connection when off campus or on wireless. By secure ftp connection, I mean use WinSCP, WS_FTP Pro, or another than can connect with SFTP.
