Okay, so I have a question. One of my alumni needs to be able to convert .mpeg movies into .wmv files, so that he can watch them on his Pocket PC. Any suggestions? I figure TMPGEnc would be the best bet, but I don't know if it converts to .wmv or not.

He needs to get a better movie player. The one that comes with pocket pc is horrible, slow, and only plays some files.

Pocket mvp worked really well for me when I had a pocket pc

I assume that will play .mpeg files?

Actually I think it only plays divx/mp3. But its much faster than the microsoft one. Mpeg files are probably going to be too big or very low quality.

There is a program called PocketTV that can play mpeg files. http://www.pockettv.com/

PS: Nice avatar!

PPC's will play .mpeg I know this because I have one and have played .mpeg on it. TMPGEnc will allow him to make compatible files for free.
