Used to, it seemed that if you adjusted the video settings, they would stay like that until you changed it. But now, it changes back to default (everything in the middle of the sliders) after each video clip. Now, it's ok when watching a movie, because it lasts long enough, but when watching music videos or cartoons, it get's annoying have to constant adjust it. Is there some way (OTHER than using a different player) to keep the settings constant? Is is something in WMP, or does it have to do with my computer? When I had XP Home, it would stay, but now that I have XP Pro, am having the problems with it.

WMP 10 is full of issues. If you want to keep WMP, go back to 9. 10 also reports information and there is no way to disable it, check the eula.

I had almost the opposite problem. I had brightness settings different when I had a messed up monitor and when I bought a new one, WMP wouldn't let me change the settings back to defaults at all. So if i watched anything in WMP it would be super washed out.

I recommend getting windows media player classic via the K-lite Mega Pack (KLM).

Its a very simple player that does basically all media including Real player, Quicktime, .asf, .wmv, whatever you want.

I already have the Aces Mega-Codec pack, so I can use any player to play anything. Though .mov files in WMP are like in fast forward or something. I just like WMP for the playlist options and all that. Haven't found any other programs that do that that are actually decent. Might go back and check out WinAMP again.
