i recently formated and am trying to get things back to where they were. now when i run CS (through steam) my taskbar shows at the bottom. now i'm aware that i can uncheck 'always on top' but then when i maximize IE it will cover my taskbar. in the past, i was able to run cs fine with my taskbar 'always on top' and it would not show up when playing cs.

also, last night i was playing cs and then suddenly i got cs_flushentity error and now whenever i try to connect to a server i get an error. it reads: Error! Server verification failed. btw, i'm not on campus. i have my own router here off campus. this problem started last night, my brother was able to play CS just fine, but it wouldn't let me.

anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Same thing happened to me after all my modifications with 1.5 (yay custom skins). What I had to wind up doing was minimizing, then bringing it back up. Usually fixed it, but I sometimes lost sound because of that. I suggest when you get to the load screen (with the two cops in the background and all your options in the lower left hand corner), minimize that and see if it fixes it.

seems like it's an ultramon problem. i just turn it off.

anyone play CS (or other games) while having dual monitors running?

I do. It runs just fine for me.

just have to set things up right. its really as simple as that
