god damn what an awesome game. the thing that surprises me the most, though, is how well it runs on my 4 year old computer. i was halfway anticipating it not even being able to run at all, but it runs flawlessly at 1600x1200 with all the graphics options on "high". i can't even run the newest command and conquer game at that resolution!
plus im probably half way through the gravity gun level, THAT is some fun shit!
old computer with new processor, and videocard???? possibly?

yeah, the graphics card is about 2 1/2 years old and i doubled its origional RAM a few years ago...but considering doom3 runs OK at 1024 i was just as surprised as you were when it was at 1600x1200 LOW and still not crawling...
it wont let me pick up any cars with the gravity gun... or any huge dumpsters or a washing machine...but i heard you get an upgraded one later or something.

I find that hella hard to believe. I have a 64mb GeFource4 as well, and it won't play Doom3 at all. It won't even render the sky in Star Wars: Battlefront.

well i don't know what else to say other than 'sucks for you'. if you want to come over here and watch me play it feel free, but i don't know what else i can do to convince you that it works.
i remember playing star wars battlefront with out any difficulty, but i never really felt the need to try and get the best graphics out of that horrible game. doom3 runs great at 800x600 but i usually play it at 1024. sim city 4 won't run past 1024 and that game is probably 3 years old. i've also had to deal with some games not even attempting to load because my card is an MX and doesn't support pixel shader 1.1 (deus ex 2 is the only one that i remember the name of)
call of duty ran 1600 high, even far cry would play with its graphics set to "high" (but for some reason would crash if i tried to change the resolution). and i don't know what all the big deal about that was because aside from a shitty game the graphics didn't really stand out in anyway
who makes your graphics card? maybe that has something to say about how well it performs. i know i'm sold if i ever have to buy a new graphics card it'll be another compro personal cinema

Go into the console mode and type in codes to change physics, weapons, ammo, health, spawning enemies and vehicles, even how much buckshot the shotgun can shoot. You will get an upgrade at the end, but you dont get to do a whole lot with it .
