I'll pay someone $10 if they will let me borrow a notebook ide to desktop ide convertor for a couple hours. (Dang laptop has no drives :( )

You want to hook a desktop sized HDD into a Laptop? Good luck, I think USB or PCMCIA are your only options. I don't know if you can boot from those.

nope, i got a compaq armada m300 w/o dock. I know for a fact a 2.5 ide to 3.5 ide convertor exists cuz i have one at home, but i dont want to wait untill i go home to fetch it.

Someone that does a lot with laptops has to have one....
