"According to a story posted at The Inquirer, Sony's Playstation 3 processor will run at a speed of 4.6 GHz at 1.3 volts. The information is derived from a presentation intended to be shown at the ISSCC 2005 conference, which will take place from February 6 in San Francisco." - http://www.tomshardware.com/hardnews/20 ... 02515.html

"posted at The Inquirer" yeah....

Sony already anounced also that it's going to be using a graphics card.... so they lied all along about some ultra powerfull, multi-teraflop cpu that would be the graphics processor in one. Gotta love the hype.

I never heard that hype. The AMD processors can do more work per cycle than Intel so I am assumeing that the Cell processor can do a lot of work per cycle as it will be a dual core cpu. BTW the GPU (made by Nvidia) will be around 50 time more powerful than the PS2's GPU, acording to Nvidia's president. (also mentioned on page 23 of Feb 05 PSM)

might as well read "posted on the internet." I never once heard anyone from sony talk about the " powerfull, multi-teraflop cpu that would be the graphics processor in one." Most likely a rumor that started in the cesspool that is gamefaqs message boards.

Naw, all the original hype that I read anywhere said the cpu was going to do everything, graphics processing, the whole bit. And Sony did mention something of equal or greater to 10Ghz. Doesn't matter either way... gamefaq or Sony announcements... all the same hype.

That hype was started by someone smoking some bad weed and noone related to Sony Corp.

I guess you don't remember all the hype that came with PS2 either... remember that supposedly awesome "Emotion Engine"?

The "Emotion Engine" is Sony's code name for its cpu you dumb ass.
Read: http://arrakis.ncsa.uiuc.edu/ps2/background.php
and http://www.us.playstation.com/consoles. ... 07657.html

I will no longer comment on posts that you(Dissension) make because obviously you don't know what you are talking about and I guess for you ignorance is bliss.

Well then maybe Dessension should make every post so we dont have to hear your dumbass bagging on people just because they weren't aware of something. Thats the problem with people today... you think your better than the other person just because you know one little tid bit more than they do about one subject... sheesh. And who's to say you didn't look that up on the internet just then... hrm... no one.

This isn't the first time that he's posted unreliable information. The kid just repeats everything he hears on the internet without knowing its true or not.

I'm not talking about actual info they released AFTER the console was out dumbshit, I'm talking about all the crap Sony releases BEFORE they put a console on the market. You probably can't find press releases of anything before the consoles release but the hype (and sometimes outright lies) where there. I understand your hostility if your a Sony fanboy...
