The class action settlement is real. The difference is that the film used to shoot the footage originally was not anamorphic like most movies. It was instead filmed in the normal aspect ration then "cut" into the "theatrical version."
The comment was clairifying for those not famillar with film history, that the "wide screen version" was actually the normal full screen version, cut to fit a theaters screen instead of filmed using the anamorphic process.
The original post said the movies had been Filmed in Anamorphic, cut for TV, that was cut for the "Theatrical DVD" when in reality it was flimed for TV and cut for Anamorphic. That's one cut instead of the speculated two.
