Yeah, just thought I'd post a link to these guys stuff here.

Keira. They're a hardcore band out of KC.

My roommates the singer/screamer. They melt faces. If you want to hear some of their stuff, they've got a page on HXCMP3.

If anybody really needs an escape from Rolla, they're playing at the El Torreon in KC tomorrow. By some weird twist of fate, they're playing with Action Action and some other emo bands. It'll be a good night of them being jackasses and making fun of emo kids. We might even get to see one cry!

I liked it better when it was this album...

but then again, everybody can't write masterpieces. I'd probably check them out if they played in StL, but there's no way I'm gonna drive up to KC for it. Keep us updated though.

Sucks that all the metal and hardcore bands play in KC. Much too far to drive for just that.

There's quite a few Metal/Hardcore bands in the Columbia area. They just don't play at typical venues, they play basement shows, you just gotta know when and where. Some good stuff coming out of there though. Texas Chainsaw Mass Choir toured with the Blood Brothers for a while.

Melting faces eh?

I know of a few bands that'll melt your face.

Great album. I love converge.

It's hard to find people who listen to my kind of music at this school. But, every now and again I get lucky.

to be quite honest.....that was pretty much a basement recording.

The guys used to practice in my basement, until one of the other guys bought a house.

It's good stuff, and a lot heavier in real life. Just sounds tinny, and the vocals don't really show up.....but yeah, if they're ever anywhere closer, or have a weekend/holiday show, I'll post something.

And while I'm at it, there's plenty of Hardcore/Metal shows in St. Louis. A buddy of mine books for the Lemp Arts center and here's the upcoming itenerary for them:

2/2
When Good Robots Go Bad (probably the best of the KCHardcore bunch)
+there will we be slideshow of the history of global stencil art!...If I wasn't so damn tired, I'd drive there and see this tonite.

2/5
Horizontal Orange
(kinda sounds like ETID, http://www.myspace.com/horizontalorange)

2/21
Zegota (swedish hardcore...newest album was recorded by David Sandstrom from Refused)
When good robots go bad
-I'll definitely be going to see this

Plus a bunch of local StL hardcore/punk bands usually play.

Most of those bands aren't very popular, but they're all pretty good.

Now for more popular bands, you've gotta go to the Creepy Crawl.
2/17
Merauder
The Hoods
The Risk Taken
Agents of Man
Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting
Myfrailcollapsingheart
-If its anything like a typical hoods show, this will end in a giant fight and be shut down by the cops.

2/18
Eighteen Visions
Emery
Remembering Never
Misery Signals
-If this wasn't the same night as Sage Francis at the bluenote, I'd be there

2/24
He Is Legend - on Solid-State Recs
Classic Case - ex-Glassjaw & Beloved
Forever Changed
Blinded Black
Novella
-Probably be there if I don't have a bunch of stuff to do

3/12
Throwdown
The Chariot - x - Norma Jean
It Dies Today
Cold War
My Beloved Hatred
-The Chariot is Norma Jean's formal vocalist. Last time I saw them, it was great.

3/13
Death From Above 1979
Controller.Controller
Sibylline
-Definitely gonna be there for this one. Not so much hardcore, but a great show nonetheless.

3/14
These Arms Are Snakes
Fear Before The March of Flames
Big Business
Breather Resist
Circle Takes The Square
-I don't really want to drive back into town, but damn I really want to see this.

Thats it as far as I know. If you want to go to any of these shows and are cool , I'll probably have some seats open in my car.
